Da Nang police arrest man for violent robbery spree

Da Nang police have arrested Nguyen Hoang An, a 25-year-old man responsible for a series of violent robberies and assaults. An, who has prior convictions for intentional injury and illegal drug possession, allegedly carried out multiple crimes in a short period on September 5.

During the spree, An used a 40cm knife to threaten victims. He intercepted a car, slashed its side panel, and later boarded a 16-seat passenger bus to demand money from passengers. After seizing 1.5 million VND, he reportedly struck the bus driver twice in the head with a knife and damaged the vehicle's windshield and mirrors. He also targeted a motorcyclist, snatching a mobile phone before fleeing. Following the incidents, the suspect attempted to evade authorities by changing his license plate and moving through various areas to hide his tracks.
