Vietnam authorities prosecute fraud and bribery cases

In Bac Ninh province, authorities have prosecuted Duong Quang Thang for fraud involving the misappropriation of assets valued at over 2 billion VND. Thang allegedly used fake bank transaction images to deceive an Indian national, SK Saphiruddi, into handing over more than 115kg of hair during a sale.

Separately, the Central Inspection Commission has recommended disciplinary action against Nguyen Huy Ngoc, the Vice Chairman of the Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee. The commission cited serious violations regarding political ideology, ethics, and lifestyle, as well as failures in anti-corruption duties. This follows a previous decision by the Economic Police to arrest Ngoc on bribery charges involving a large sum of money.
