Da Nang proposes accelerating Hoa Ninh LNG power plant project

Da Nang authorities are proposing to accelerate the implementation of the Hoa Ninh LNG power plant project to the 2026–2030 period, five years earlier than currently planned under Power Development Plan VIII. During a workshop organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Phan Thai Binh, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee, emphasized that LNG development should be viewed as a comprehensive ecosystem rather than just a single power plant.

This ecosystem would encompass import ports, storage facilities, gas infrastructure, power plants, transmission systems, logistics, and consumer markets. The proposal aims to secure the stable, high-quality, and green energy supply necessary to support the city's goal of double-digit economic growth and to attract investment in high-tech industries, the Lien Chieu Port area, and international financial centers.
