Da Nang seeks Silicon Valley connections to boost AI and tech sectors

Da Nang is actively pursuing strategic technological growth by connecting with international innovation networks and expanding its local artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem.

A delegation led by Da Nang People's Committee Chairman Nguyen Manh Hung participated in the ‘Da Nang - Silicon Valley Innovation & Expert Network’ seminar in the United States. Organized by the Da Nang Innovation and Startup Support Center and Janus Capital, the event aimed to link the city with Vietnamese experts, entrepreneurs, and international investors in Silicon Valley. Discussions focused on technology trends, human resource needs, and infrastructure requirements, such as data centers and cooling technologies necessary for AI development. Investors also suggested streamlining investment procedures to attract major technology firms for research and development centers.

Domestically, the Da Nang Innovation and Startup Support Center, in collaboration with Viettel IDC and Panduit, hosted the ‘Da Nang – A New Destination for the AI Ecosystem’ event. The program brought together over 100 representatives from government agencies, universities, and tech companies to discuss building a comprehensive AI environment. Key topics included developing human resources, improving data access, and bridging the gap between laboratory research and commercial products through collaboration between startups, academia, and industry.
