Daayra crime thriller to release new anthem ‘Sach Ka Daayra’

Director Meghna Gulzar has announced the upcoming song ‘Sach Ka Daayra’ for her investigative crime thriller, Daayra. The film, which stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran as two senior police officers with conflicting approaches to justice, is scheduled for release on September 18.

The new track features lyrics by Gulzar, music by Amit Trivedi, and vocals by B Praak. The film is inspired by real events and explores the moral complexities and grey areas encountered during investigations.

Daayra joins a lineage of Bollywood crime thrillers that place the legal system and judicial processes at the center of their narratives. Previous notable examples include Gulzar’s own ‘Talvar’, which was based on the 2008 Noida double murder case, as well as ‘Section 375’ and ‘Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai’.
