Dacia rebrands hybrid LPG 4x4 powertrain as Tribrid

Dacia has rebranded its Hybrid-G 4x4 powertrain as ‘Tribrid’ to better reflect its three energy sources: gasoline, LPG, and electricity. This technology will be featured on the Duster and Bigster models.

The Tribrid 150 4x4 system utilizes a 1.2-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine producing 140 hp, paired with a 31 hp electric motor on the rear axle to provide all-wheel drive. The setup offers a combined output of approximately 150 hp and can achieve a total range of up to 1,500 km using two 50-liter tanks. The electric motor allows for increased traction in difficult conditions and enables electric-only driving in urban settings.

Dacia is showcasing its full range, including the Sandero, Sandero Stepway, and Jogger, at the Auto Athina 2026 event in Greece. The Jogger will be presented with a 155 hp full hybrid system, which Dacia claims can operate in electric mode for up to 80% of urban driving.
