Dacia expands electrified lineup with Sandero Hybrid and 2028 electric plans

Dacia is expanding its electrified lineup, notably with the launch of the Sandero Hybrid 155. This new hybrid version, which combines a 1.8-liter gasoline engine with two electric motors to produce 155 CV, is positioned as one of the most affordable hybrids in its segment, starting at approximately 19,890 euros.

Looking toward 2028, Dacia plans to launch a new generation of the Sandero that will offer a multi-energy approach. This upcoming generation will include gasoline, hybrid, and 100% electric versions. The brand aims to maintain its core philosophy of affordability and simplicity while competing with low-cost electric vehicle manufacturers. To achieve this, Dacia is exploring flexible architectures, such as an adapted CMF-B platform, to accommodate various powertrains without significantly increasing costs.

In addition to the Sandero, Dacia's broader electrification strategy includes the upcoming Spring EV and plans for new electric versions of the Duster and Sandero Stepway. The company's goal is to provide accessible electric mobility to the mass market, balancing technical performance with economic viability.
