Dacia Sandero leads Spanish car sales in 2026
The Dacia Sandero, produced significantly at the Renault plant in Tangier, Morocco, led the Spanish automotive market sales in 2026. From January to the end of August, the model recorded 23,769 sales, surpassing the Seat Ibiza and Toyota Corolla.
Despite a 4.7 percent decrease in sales compared to the same month the previous year, the Sandero maintained its top position in the Spanish market through August. The success of this model highlights the growing role of Morocco within the European automotive supply chain. The Renault factory in Tangier serves as a major production hub with an annual capacity of approximately 380,000 vehicles, utilizing the Tanger Med port as a primary gateway for exports to Europe and other international markets.
