Dacia showcases electric Hipster prototype in Paris while existing models praised for rugged Romanian roads

Dacia displayed its ultra‑compact electric Hipster prototype on the streets of Paris, where it was received positively by passers‑by. The prototype, still in testing, measures about 3 m in length, weighs under 800 kg and claims a range of up to 130 km and a top speed of 90 km/h. While not yet homologated, the vehicle aims to compete with Citroën’s AMI and faces EU legislative hurdles regarding ultra‑compact electric vehicles.

In Romania, Dacia’s existing line‑up continues to be valued for its durability on poorly maintained country roads. The Duster, especially the 4×4 version, is highlighted as the most capable model for mud, gravel and snow, offering higher ground clearance and optional all‑wheel drive. Other models such as the Logan, Sandero Stepway and Jogger are noted for their affordability and robustness, though each has limits on extreme off‑road conditions. Maintenance simplicity and low repair costs are cited as advantages for Dacia vehicles in rural environments.
