Dacia unveils second‑generation Spring electric SUV for Europe
Dacia announced the launch of the second generation of its Spring battery‑SUV. The new model will have four seats, a practical luggage compartment and will be built in Europe at the Renault‑owned plant in Novo Mesto, Slovenia. It is based on the Renault Twingo E‑Tech, uses a 27.5 kWh lithium‑iron‑phosphate battery and delivers about 262 km (WLTP) range with a 60 kW (82 hp) motor. Pricing starts with the Expression trim at a €18,700 list price, to which a €3,000 manufacturer discount can be added, making the vehicle eligible for state EV purchase incentives. Since its 2021 debut, the Spring has sold roughly 210,000 units across Europe, including about 50,000 in Germany. Visual leaks suggest the redesigned exterior and interior will hide its Twingo origins, aiming to recapture market share in France and other EU markets.
