Daegu Universities Highlight AI Innovation with Competition Win and Bootcamp Graduation

Youngnam Institute of Technology students received the Korean Scholarship Foundation President's Award at the 2026 Daegu City public‑data and AI startup competition for their project “Welfare Assistant‑Smart,” an AI co‑pilot platform designed to connect social workers with digitally vulnerable populations and streamline welfare administration using public data.

Daegu University held the graduation ceremony for its AI Bootcamp summer immersive program. Participants completed cloud‑computing coursework, earned Naver Cloud Platform certification, and top performers were offered field‑practice opportunities. The bootcamp is supported by the Ministry of Education, Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology, and Gyeongsangbuk‑do province.
