Daejeon City establishes Seoul National Assembly camp to secure national funds

Daejeon City is establishing a National Assembly camp in Seoul starting in November to intensify efforts to secure national budget funds for the upcoming year. The camp will serve as a permanent base for a dedicated team to respond to budget reviews by standing committees and the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts.

The city aims to secure 5.0406 trillion won for next year, a 5% increase from the previous year. Key projects targeted for funding include the National Semiconductor Research Institute, the construction of the Chungcheong Metropolitan Railway Phase 1, and the establishment of a convergence special video content cluster.

Additionally, following additional funding from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Daejeon is expanding cashback benefits for the Ontong Daejeon local currency program. From October 29 to November 15, general citizens can receive 15% cashback, while welfare recipients can receive up to 18%, as part of the 2026 Korea Grand Festival to stimulate local consumption.
