Daejeon City launches 2026 youth monthly rent support program

Daejeon Metropolitan City has announced the recruitment of participants for its 2026 Youth Monthly Rent Support Project. This municipal initiative is funded entirely by city budget and operates independently from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s program, offering more relaxed age and income requirements to assist a broader range of residents.

The city aims to select 1,000 young people to help alleviate housing costs and encourage local settlement. Eligible applicants must be non-homeowners aged 19 to 39 residing in Daejeon, with a household income at or below 120% of the median income. Housing requirements include a deposit of 100 million KRW or less and monthly rent of 600,000 KRW or less (though exceptions apply if the combined converted deposit and rent amount is 800,000 KRW or less).

Selected participants will receive 200,000 KRW per month for up to 12 months, totaling 2.4 million KRW. Applications can be submitted online via the Daejeon Youth Portal from August 31 to September 10. Results are expected to be announced on October 30, with the first payment scheduled for November 25.
