Daewoong Pharmaceutical opens advanced biopharmaceutical facility in Songdo

Daewoong Pharmaceutical has opened a new advanced biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility located at the Yonsei University International Campus in Songdo, Incheon. The facility is designed to support the commercialization of fundamental treatments for incurable diseases by providing a stable production base for clinical research materials.

The manufacturing site features global-standard sterile production and quality control systems. Its primary production items include stem cells and immune cell products for clinical research. The company aims to complete all legal permits for the manufacturing and processing of advanced biopharmaceuticals within the year to begin full operations.

This new facility complements the company’s existing Yongin Bio Center, which has focused on stem cell, immune, and gene therapy research for over a decade. By linking the Yongin and Songdo sites, Daewoong Pharmaceutical intends to bridge the gap between research achievements and clinical application. The company also plans to expand its global bio network by connecting these domestic hubs with international bases, such as Indonesia, and fostering open innovation within the Songdo Bio Cluster.
