DAF expands truck lineup with new electric and diesel models

At the IAA Transportation 2026 event, DAF announced an expansion of its truck lineup, featuring both new diesel and electric configurations. For heavy-duty construction applications, the company introduced a factory-available 10x4 rigid configuration. The new XD and XF models include a five-axle setup with two steerable front axles and a 34-tonne rear tridem. Additionally, DAF presented specialized car transporter solutions with chassis heights as low as 83 cm to maximize payload within legal height limits.

In the electric segment, DAF showcased XG and XG+ Electric models capable of ranges exceeding 550 kilometers on a single charge. The company is also expanding its electric range to include 6x2, 6x4, and 8x4 models for specific industrial uses. A new battery configuration moves weight away from the cab to the rear, potentially increasing payload capacity by up to 2.5 tonnes.

Separately, DAF is seeing growth in its brand presence in Australia, supported by an expanding merchandise store. Popular items among Australian operators include branded apparel, drinkware, and accessories. A new range of merchandise is expected to launch within the next six months to coincide with the introduction of new truck models in the region.
