Dak Lak durian exports expand with 171 new approved codes

Dak Lak province has received approval for 171 new codes, consisting of 140 growing area codes and 31 packing facility codes, facilitating official exports to the Chinese market. This development comes during the peak harvest season for the region, which manages nearly 45,000 hectares of durian, with an estimated production of 500,000 tons by 2026.

The General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) granted these codes to expand official export channels and boost turnover for the local industry. Local cooperatives, such as the Durian Krong Buk Agricultural Service Cooperative, have noted that while high production volumes previously created pressure due to limited approved codes, these new approvals are expected to stabilize exports and improve pricing.

To maintain access to the Chinese market, local farmers and cooperatives are focusing on standardizing production processes, ensuring traceability, and strictly controlling heavy metal residues and fertilizer use to meet rigorous quality requirements.
