Dak Lak authorities summon woman over illegal charity and false livestream

Authorities in Dak Lak province have summoned a woman, identified as C. T. T. H., for illegal charity solicitation and spreading false information during a livestream. The incident stems from the disappearance of a Chinese tourist, Z. L., who was swept away by waves at Tuy Hoa beach on August 7.

Police stated that Ms. H. violated government regulations regarding the voluntary collection and distribution of donations by organizing unauthorized fundraising for the victim's family. Additionally, during a TikTok livestream on August 14, she made false statements that negatively impacted the reputation of the police force.

Ms. H. admitted to the violations but maintained that she did not profit from the donations, claiming all funds were accounted for and handed over to the victim's family in the presence of witnesses.
