Dak Lak seeks Chinese durian supply chain partnerships

More than 60 Chinese enterprises recently visited Dak Lak province to explore cooperation in the durian industry. The goal is to transition from simple purchasing to building transparent, high-quality, and sustainable supply chains. Dak Lak is a major durian production hub, with over 41,000 hectares and an estimated output of 500,000 tons by 2026.

To support these export ambitions, local authorities are encouraging private investment in standardized testing laboratories. There is a specific need for facilities capable of meeting Chinese regulatory requirements, particularly for testing cadmium and gold levels. Currently, Dak Lak's testing capacity only meets about 15-20% of local demand during peak seasons. Expanding these services locally would reduce costs and risks by avoiding the need to transport goods to other provinces for inspection.
