Dakahlia authorities record over 1,000 supply violations in market inspections

Regulatory authorities in the Dakahlia Governorate have conducted intensive inspection campaigns across markets, bakeries, fuel stations, and warehouses to ensure compliance with supply laws and protect citizens from fraud.

During the week of August 15 to 21, 2026, the Directorate of Supply recorded 1,018 violations and 57 seizures across 19 administrative departments. The bakery sector saw the highest number of infractions, with 787 violations, including 288 cases of underweight bread and 129 instances of unauthorized flour disposal. Other violations included 152 infractions in public markets and 65 involving supply merchants.

In the petroleum sector, authorities seized significant quantities of fuel, including 2,139 liters of diesel and several thousand liters of various gasoline grades. Additional seizures included large amounts of subsidized flour and 1,980 loaves of bread collected in violation of regulations. Governor Tarek Marzouk emphasized that daily and surprise inspections will continue to ensure market stability and fair pricing.
