Dakar security forces dismantle drug network in suburban raids

Security forces in the Dakar suburbs have dismantled a narcotics distribution network operating between Keur Massar and Grand Mbao. Following intelligence-led surveillance, the Keur Massar Research Brigade arrested a Senegalese individual on August 10 while he was transporting 41 sachets of kush on a motorcycle. His primary supplier, a foreign national, was subsequently identified and detained.

In a coordinated effort, the National Gendarmerie’s Anti-Drug Fighting Group (GLAD) conducted a raid in the Grand Mbao sector during the night of August 11-12. This operation resulted in the arrest of a third suspect found in possession of 34 ecstasy tablets. In total, authorities seized 41 bags of kush, 34 ecstasy pills, and two motorcycles. The suspects face charges of criminal conspiracy and international drug trafficking as investigations continue to uncover the full extent of the network.
