Dakhla-Oued Eddahab approves regional development and tourism projects
The Dakhla-Oued Eddahab Regional Council has approved several partnership agreements aimed at boosting regional development through investments in infrastructure, education, and tourism. During an ordinary session presided over by Council President El Khattat Yanja, the council approved a 4.7 million dirham project to construct and equip the Aousserd Provincial Council annex in Dakhla.
To enhance territorial marketing and attract international investment, a 7 million dirham agreement was reached with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the African Chamber of Commerce and Services. This initiative includes organizing international events such as ‘Africa Business Days’ and ‘Africa Executive Meeting’.
In the tourism sector, the region is experiencing significant growth, with accommodation capacity increasing by 73% between 2019 and 2024. A new five-star luxury hotel is being developed in El Arguoub by Moroccan Golden Cube SARL. With an estimated budget of 10 million dirhams, the project is expected to open in 2027 and will provide approximately 50 rooms and suites, contributing to local job creation.
Educational support is also a priority, with 3 million dirhams allocated for a school support program for second-year baccalaureate students and 3.6 million dirhams designated for student transportation.
