Dale Caldwell faces investigation for alleged misconduct

New Jersey Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of State Dale Caldwell is under investigation following allegations of inappropriate behavior toward women and potential ethics violations. The investigation, which reportedly began a week ago, also includes allegations regarding the offering of state jobs.

Governor Mikie Sherrill has requested former Attorney General Christopher Porrino to lead the investigation. In response to the reports, Republican State Senator Anthony Bucco has called for Caldwell to temporarily step down from his duties, stating that the offices of Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of State are too important to be distracted by such serious allegations.

A spokesperson for the governor's office stated that the administration takes reports of misconduct extremely seriously, though they did not confirm or deny specific personnel matters.
