DALI announces BASIK SUB compact active subwoofer
Danish HiFi brand DALI has announced the DALI BASIK SUB, a compact active subwoofer designed to provide low-frequency extension for music and home cinema systems. The device is intended to complement compact bookshelf loudspeakers, such as DALI’s KUPID and SONIK 1 models, offering an alternative to larger floorstanding speakers.
The subwoofer features an in-house designed 8-inch down-firing long-stroke woofer with a paper-pulp diaphragm and an oversized ferrite magnet. It utilizes Class-D amplification with a rated 170W RMS and 220W peak power. The unit is housed in a bass reflex MDF enclosure and includes a switch-mode power supply with a dual-stage limiter.
Designed for flexible integration, the BASIK SUB includes adjustable volume, crossover (40–120Hz), and phase (0–180 degree) controls. The compact cabinet measures 319 x 295 x 310 mm and weighs 9.75 kg. It offers three power modes: ON, AUTO, and OFF, with a standby power consumption of 0.4W.
