Dallas Wings clinch WNBA playoff berth with victory over Portland Fire

The Dallas Wings have officially clinched the final spot in the WNBA playoffs following a 96-78 victory over the Portland Fire. The win brings Dallas to a 23-16 record, setting a new franchise record for regular-season victories and marking their first postseason appearance since 2023.

Paige Bueckers led the Wings with a double-double, recording 22 points and 11 assists. Other key contributors included Jessica Shepard with 21 points and Awak Kuier, who recorded 12 points, 12 rebounds, and five blocks. The team's success comes despite the loss of rookie Azzi Fudd, who is sidelined for the remainder of the season due to a knee procedure.

With this victory, the eight-team playoff field is now complete, consisting of the Dallas Wings, Washington Mystics, New York Liberty, Indiana Fever, Atlanta Dream, Las Vegas Aces, Golden State Valkyries, and Minnesota Lynx. The Wings will conclude their regular season against the Connecticut Sun on August 30.
