Daly Cherry-Evans nears NRL premiership in final season

Daly Cherry-Evans is one win away from a premiership in his final NRL season following the Sydney Roosters' 36-20 preliminary final victory over the Dolphins. The 37-year-old playmaker, who is the oldest player in the league, has confirmed he will move to Hull FC in the English Super League next year.

Cherry-Evans stated that his motivations are internal and not related to his former club, Manly. He noted that he felt a title was possible from the moment he signed with the Roosters due to the coaching of Trent Robinson and the quality of the roster.

The upcoming Grand Final features a personal connection between the competitors, as Dolphins head coach Kristian Woolf previously coached Cherry-Evans in a representative under-16s team 20 years ago.
