Dan Ticktum’s pole‑positions and penalties dominate Monaco Formula E weekend

British driver Dan Ticktum secured back‑to‑back pole positions at the Monaco Formula E E‑Prix, posting a fastest lap of 1:26.222 and edging out rivals such as Antonio Felix da Costa. Despite the strong qualifying performance, Ticktum’s races ended in disappointment. In race one he finished third before receiving a 33‑second penalty after contact with da Costa, dropping down the order. In race two he was hit with a five‑second penalty for exceeding the speed limit under a Full‑Course Yellow, further hampering his result.

Ticktum described the qualifying runs as “some of the best driving I’ve ever done” and praised Cupra Kiro’s package, while also criticizing the current Formula E format for relying too heavily on strategy and luck.
