Dana Gas and Crescent Petroleum begin gas deliveries to Iraq's Ministry of Electricity

Dana Gas and Crescent Petroleum have started supplying 100 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscf/d) of natural gas from the Khor Mor field in the Kurdistan Region to Iraq's Ministry of Electricity. The gas will be piped to the Kirkuk Taza power station for an initial one‑year term, aiming to boost power generation and improve electricity services across Iraq.

The deliveries follow an agreement signed in December and are enabled by the KM250 expansion, which raised Khor Mor’s processing capacity by 50% to 750 MMscf/d in October 2025. The companies, joint operators of the Kurdistan Gas Project, highlighted the project’s role in fueling over 80% of the region’s electricity, serving more than 8 million people, and generating over US$4 billion in investment and 47,000 jobs.

Crescent Petroleum CEO Majid Jafar and Dana Gas CEO Richard Hall said the milestone strengthens energy security and supports Iraq’s growing electricity demand.
