Dance festivals celebrate milestones in Morocco and France

The 12th edition of the Rencontres chorégraphiques de Casablanca is taking place from October 7 to 14, expanding its reach to Rabat. Organized by Col’Jam, the festival features approximately 20 shows from 15 different countries, including representatives from Africa, the Arab world, and Europe. The program emphasizes South-to-South exchanges, highlighting artists from nations such as Tunisia, Mali, Côte d’Ivoire, Lebanon, and Syria.

In France, the Karavel hip-hop festival celebrates its 20th anniversary from September 25 to October 25. Spanning Lyon and 19 surrounding municipalities, the event features 50 companies. The programming includes various styles such as krump, breakdance, and contemporary fusion, alongside a revival of the piece ‘Récital’ by Mourad Merzouki’s company Käfig.
