Mario Adorf laid to rest in Saint-Tropez

German actor Mario Adorf has been buried in Saint-Tropez, France, following his death on April 8, 2026, at the age of 95. His longtime manager, Michael Stark, confirmed that the burial took place in early October at the Cimetière Marin, fulfilling the actor's final wish to be laid to rest in a location overlooking the Mediterranean.

To ensure the ceremony remained as simple and private as possible, the family kept the specific date confidential to avoid public disturbances. This follows a large public memorial service held in Munich in May, which was attended by numerous colleagues from the German film industry. Adorf passed away peacefully in his Paris apartment after a short illness.
