Lidl recalls trout fillets due to Listeria contamination

Lidl has issued a product recall for Nautica brand rainbow trout fillets (Nautica Regenbogen Forellenfilets Natur, 125g) following the detection of Listeria monocytogenes. The recall affects products with an expiration date of November 3, 2026.

In Austria, the product was sold at Lidl branches, and customers can return it for a full refund even without a receipt. In Germany, the recall extends to several states, including Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia, and Rhineland-Palatinate, covering expiration dates of October 31, November 1, and November 3, 2026.

Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious gastrointestinal illness and flu-like symptoms. While generally manageable for healthy adults, the bacteria poses significant health risks to infants, young children, pregnant women, the elderly, and immunocompromised individuals.
