Dang Phan Tuong prosecuted in Vietnamese power sector corruption probe

The Ministry of Public Security's Investigative Police Agency (C01) has officially prosecuted Dang Phan Tuong, a member of the Board of Directors at Dong Anh Electrical Equipment Joint Stock Company (EEMC).

This action is part of an ongoing criminal investigation involving the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), PC1 Group, and other related entities. The investigation centers on irregularities surrounding the 500kV circuit 3 transmission line project.

To date, authorities have prosecuted 47 individuals in connection with this case, facing five different charges: violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences, violating accounting regulations causing serious consequences, embezzlement, giving bribes, and receiving bribes.

Dang Phan Tuong previously served as the Chairman of the Board of Members at EVNNPT for nine years, from September 2011 until his early retirement in September 2020. He has been a member of the EEMC Board of Directors since November 2024.
