Danganronpa 2×2 release date set for January 14, 2027

Publisher Spike Chunsoft and developer Gemdrops have announced that Danganronpa 2×2 is scheduled for release on January 14, 2027. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Originally intended for a 2026 release, this title serves as a reinterpretation of Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. While it returns to Jabberwock Island with the original cast, a single event fundamentally alters the story, introducing new victims, culprits, and murder mysteries. The new scenario is expected to be similar in scale to the original game.

Additionally, the game will include the complete original scenario from Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, featuring updated graphics, modernized presentation, and quality-of-life improvements. Players will engage in the series' signature gameplay, exploring the island, interacting with students, and participating in class trials to uncover contradictions and identify killers.
