Dangdut Academy 8 introduces new Top 12 competition format

Dangdut Academy 8 has entered the Top 12 stage with a revised competition format. Announced by hosts Gilang Dirga and Rina Nose, the contestants will now perform as a single group with appearances divided across three nights.

The competition structure includes three show nights and three result nights. Elimination will occur on the third result night, where viewer votes—sent via virtual gifts—will be accumulated. The contestant with the highest number of virtual gifts will automatically advance to the next round. The remaining contestants will be evaluated by a jury, who will select those to be saved, while the contestant not chosen by the jury will be eliminated.

Additionally, the Top 12 contestants will perform duets with alumni from Dangdut Academy 5 and Dangdut Academy 7 during the show nights.
