The Dangdut Academy 8 talent competition progressed from its Top 15 phase into a new Top 12 stage.

In the Top 15 phase, fifteen contestants remained after the conclusion of the Top 17 Group 4 results. These participants continued to receive guidance from coaches and mentors as they competed for a position in the championship.

Upon reaching the Top 12, the competition introduced a revised format. Contestants perform as a single group across three show nights and three result nights. During this stage, contestants perform duets with alumni from previous seasons. Elimination is determined by a combination of viewer votes, sent via virtual gifts, and jury evaluations. The contestant with the highest number of virtual gifts automatically advances, while the jury selects which of the remaining contestants are saved.
