Dangote Cement gets AA+ rating upgrade; FCMB Asset Management upgraded to A(NG)
DataPro upgraded Dangote Cement Plc’s long‑term credit rating from AA to AA+ and affirmed its short‑term rating at A1, citing strong financial fundamentals, resilient operating performance and a dominant market position in Nigeria and across Africa. The agency highlighted the company’s 2025 revenue of ₦4.31 trillion and a 109 % rise in profit before tax, underscoring low credit risk and a stable outlook through June 2027.
GCR Ratings raised FCMB Asset Management Limited’s national‑scale long‑term and short‑term issuer ratings to A(NG) and A1(NG) from A‑(NG) and A2(NG). The upgrade was driven by the firm’s competitive resilience, disciplined balance sheet, 30 % revenue growth and an EBITDA margin above 58 %, with the outlook remaining stable. CEO James Ilori said the rating “is an important external validation of a strategy we have pursued with discipline… to lead from the front.” Both upgrades reflect confidence in the firms’ ability to meet obligations despite Nigeria’s macro‑economic challenges.
