Dangote Group and Congo's SNPC begin talks on refinery partnership

The Société Nationale des Pétroles du Congo (SNPC) and Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals met in Lagos to discuss a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening the Republic of Congo’s supply of refined petroleum products. SNPC Managing Director Maixent Raoul Ominga praised the Dangote refinery as a major industrial achievement for Africa and said the two organisations will explore cooperation in refining, product supply, energy security and knowledge sharing.

Aliko Dangote reiterated the Group’s commitment to African industrialisation, noting the refinery’s high‑quality fuel output and its role in reducing the continent’s reliance on imported fuels. He also outlined Dangote’s expansion plan to reach 2.1 million barrels per day of refining capacity, including a future 700,000‑bpd complex in Kenya. The talks reflect a broader push for regional energy cooperation and industrial integration across Africa.
