Daniel Olbrychski criticizes Netflix adaptation and joins ‘Ranczo’ cast

Polish actor Daniel Olbrychski has voiced criticism regarding Netflix’s recent adaptation of Bolesław Prus’s novel, ‘Lalka’. While Olbrychski noted that he does not mind departures from the original plot, he described the production as ‘not a good film’ and criticized director Paweł Maślona’s approach, characterizing it as ‘insolence’ by prioritizing directorial style over the story.

Separately, Olbrychski is set to join the cast of the popular Polish series ‘Ranczo’. He will portray Ignac Japycz, a character who recently returned to Poland after spending much of his adult life in Australia. Olbrychski described the character as a business-savvy individual who will appear in scenes involving horseback riding.
