Daniel Santos faces scrutiny over Ananindeua health management

Daniel Santos, the official candidate for the Pará state government representing the Podemos party, is facing scrutiny regarding his previous administration in Ananindeua. While Santos has positioned public health as a central pillar of his political platform, his tenure in Ananindeua has been marked by local protests.

Families recently occupied the Municipal Chamber to demand improvements in services at the Psychosocial Attention Center for Children and Adolescents (CAPSi). Additionally, a federal ordinance (GM/MS nº 12.007) has disqualified Ananindeua from receiving federal funds for the construction of a new Psychosocial Attention Center under the Novo PAC Saúde program. The Ministry of Health stated the municipality failed to meet necessary requirements during the preparatory stage. Although the ordinance links the failure to a proposal presented during Santos's leadership, the document does not assign him personal responsibility for the non-compliance.
