Daniel Vilela leads Goiás gubernatorial race toward potential first-round reelection

Governor Daniel Vilela (MDB) is positioned for a potential first-round reelection in Goiás, according to recent polling by Instituto Paraná Pesquisas. In a stimulated scenario, Vilela holds 45.1% of the voting intentions, a 21.9-point lead over the second-place candidate, Marconi Perillo (PSDB), who has 23.2%. Senator Wilder Morais (PL) follows in third with 15%.

Vilela’s individual support exceeds the combined total of his two main rivals, who together account for 38.2% of the vote. When considering only valid votes, Vilela reaches 50.2%, which would secure a victory in the first round. The polling shows stability in his leadership, with his numbers remaining consistent since July.

Local political support for Vilela is noted in several regions, including the Greater Goiânia area and the Entorno de Brasília. In the Southwest, support is bolstered by the agribusiness sector, while political leaders in Anápolis and Southeast Goiás also express confidence in his victory. Former Governor Ronaldo Caiado is expected to focus his final campaign days on supporting Vilela and Gracinha Caiado.
