Danilo Díazgranados suspected in Zapatero money laundering case

The French Financial Markets Authority (AMF) has revealed details regarding Danilo Alfonso Díazgranados, a Venezuelan businessman suspected of involvement in the Zapatero money laundering case. Intercepted messages indicate that Díazgranados met in Madrid on October 3, 2022, to discuss the placement of 30 million in cash.

According to the AMF, Díazgranados is suspected of corruption in Venezuela and has been linked to Claudia Díaz, the former nurse of the late President Hugo Chávez. Investigations suggest he may have facilitated the movement of gold ingots acquired through corruption and stored in Liechtenstein.

Furthermore, French authorities believe Díazgranados plays a significant role in the organization led by Luis Felipe Baca, who is implicated in the alleged laundering of funds from the Plus Ultra rescue. The Spanish Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office has confirmed that the Audiencia Nacional is currently conducting a secret investigation into his activities.
