Danish Defence revises timeline of Borris drone shooting incident
The Danish Defence has revised its timeline regarding a September 2025 drone incident at the Borris shooting range. Previously, it was stated that Danish soldiers fired 43 shots at suspected drones only after a Norwegian passenger plane had passed the area. New information indicates the shots were fired earlier than initially reported, meaning the aircraft may have been in the vicinity at the same time as the gunfire.
Despite the timeline correction, the Defence maintains that the soldiers were targeting flying objects likely to be drones and assesses there was no risk of the aircraft being hit. Defence Minister Jeppe Bruus has rejected allegations of a cover-up, stating he is convinced the targets were indeed hostile drones.
Political opposition, specifically from Liberal Alliance, has criticized Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen over the delay in providing accurate information. The party intends to raise the matter within the defence agreement circle and the Intelligence Services Committee.
