Danish PM warns of harsh winter for Ukraine without more air defense

During a visit to Kyiv, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen warned that Western nations could provide significantly more air defense support to Ukraine, specifically more missiles for Patriot systems, if there is sufficient political will. She cautioned that without such support, Ukraine faces a harsh winter of relentless Russian bombardment, including ballistic missiles.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been urgently requesting Patriot missile supplies as stocks dwindle amid ongoing Russian attacks. Zelenskyy also called for stricter European Union sanctions to prevent Russia from using Western components in the production of ballistic missiles.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb also visited Kyiv to meet with Nordic and Baltic leaders. During these discussions, several strategic agreements were signed, including a defense contract between Ukraine and the Finnish-Norwegian arms company Patria.
