Danish universities scrap 330 million DKK IT project

Danish universities have scrapped a major 330 million DKK IT project intended to implement a new study administration system known as Nyt SIS. The project, which involved seven of the country's eight universities, was contracted to the IT vendor Fluido in 2023 but has been terminated following several failed attempts to deliver a functional system.

In a related development regarding digital academic tools, the WISEflow system has faced significant criticism from educators and external examiners. Users have reported severe usability issues, including inefficient navigation and excessive steps required for simple tasks such as grade entry. The head of study systems, Trine Kvitzau, acknowledged the legitimacy of the complaints regarding the system's interface following an update released in March.
