Danish university IT project cancellations

Overview

Seven Danish universities have terminated a major IT project intended to implement a new study administration system, known as Nyt SIS. The project, which was contracted to the vendor Fluido in 2023 at a cost of 330 million DKK, was cancelled following several failed attempts to deliver a functional system. This decision marks the end of a decade-long effort by the institutions to modernize their administrative technology.

Separately, the WISEflow system has drawn criticism from educators and external examiners due to usability issues. Following a March update, users reported inefficient navigation and excessive steps for tasks such as grade entry. Trine Kvitzau, the head of study systems, acknowledged the legitimacy of these complaints regarding the system’s interface.
