Danna Yanina's Defense Claims Mexican Court Withheld Hearing Video for Appeal

The legal team of Danna Yanina, a suspect in the femicide of minor Dafne Zapata, has accused the Tamaulipas State Judiciary of refusing to provide the video recording of the initial hearing. The defense argues that the footage is essential to prepare an appeal against the judge’s decision to link Yanina to the case. A formal request was sent to Judge María Cira Mora González, but the court said the material was unavailable. The attorneys warned that the legal deadline for filing the appeal expires on 31 July, and they have yet to receive a response.

If the appeal is not filed in time, the current ruling will become final, though the investigation may continue.
