Overview

The legal proceedings involving Danna Yanina, a suspect in the femicide of minor Dafne Zapata, have centered on challenges to judicial rulings and access to evidence. The case has drawn national attention, with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum requesting that the Attorney General's Office (FGR) review the investigation. Following a meeting with the family, Sheinbaum suggested that the detained young woman might be a victim rather than a participant in the crime. While Yanina, Jorge Luis ‘N’, and Estrellita ‘N’ remain held, the defense continues to maintain Yanina's innocence.
