Danube Bridge near Ruse to face traffic restrictions

Traffic restrictions will be implemented on a 320-meter section of the Danube Bridge near Ruse over the next two weeks. The Road Infrastructure Agency announced that during Mondays through Thursdays, traffic will be limited to a single lane for two-way movement to allow for the installation of drainage devices at the bridge joints.

The work will occur in two stages. The first stage runs from October 19 to October 22, restricting the right lane and directing traffic through the left lane in 20-minute intervals. The second stage runs from October 26 to October 29, restricting the left lane and directing traffic through the right lane in 20-minute intervals. No repair work is scheduled for Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays.

These activities are part of the ongoing major renovation of the bridge, which is expected to be completed by December 3, 2026. Traffic controllers will manage the flow during the scheduled work periods.
