Danube Bridge near Ruse to implement two-way single-lane traffic
Traffic on a 320-meter section of the Danube Bridge near Ruse will be restricted to two-way movement in a single lane for two weeks due to the installation of water drainage devices. The Road Infrastructure Agency (API) announced that these works will take place on Mondays through Thursdays, while traffic will operate normally on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
The maintenance is being conducted in two stages. The first stage runs from 9:00 on October 19 until 17:00 on October 22, restricting movement in the right lane and forcing two-way traffic into the left lane. The second stage will occur from 9:00 on October 26 until 17:00 on October 29, restricting the left lane and utilizing the right lane for two-way traffic. In both stages, vehicles will be released in 20-minute intervals per direction, managed by signalers.
These activities are part of the bridge's major renovation project, which saw the completion of the roadway updates in June. The final deadline for the overall renovation of the Danube Bridge is December 3.
