Dark Matter returns for second season on Apple TV+

The science fiction series ‘Dark Matter’ has returned for its second season on Apple TV+. Following the events of the first season, the new installment features ten episodes released weekly, beginning August 28, 2026, and concluding on October 30, 2026.

While the first season was a direct adaptation of Blake Crouch’s bestselling novel, the second season moves beyond the book’s original narrative to explore new territories within the multiverse. This shift allows for a more complex, ensemble-driven story that expands on the consequences of the ‘Box’ and the various realities available to the characters.

Returning leads include Joel Edgerton as Jason Dessen and Jennifer Connelly as Daniela Dessen, alongside Alice Braga as Amanda. The premiere episode, ‘A Quiet Life,’ depicts the Dessen family attempting to settle into a sense of normalcy seven months after their escape, only to face new threats and complications involving multiple versions of Jason Dessen.
