Dasara 2026 festivals planned for Mysuru and Vijayawada

Major Dasara festival celebrations are scheduled for 2026 in both Mysuru and Vijayawada, featuring large-scale cultural and religious events.

In Mysuru, the festivities will include the Yuva Sambhrama program from September 28 to October 5 at the Manasagangothri Open Air Theatre, providing a platform for young artists. Other planned events include the Ahara Mela food festival (October 11–25), a flower show (October 11–21), and the iconic Jumbo Savari grand finale on October 21.

In Vijayawada, the Dasara Mahotsavams at Indrakeeladri will run from October 11 to October 20. Local officials, including MP Kesineni Sivanath, have emphasized prioritizing ordinary devotees for Goddess Kanaka Durga darshan. To manage the expected crowds, authorities plan to use AI-based systems, drones, and CCTV for monitoring. Special provisions will be made for the elderly and disabled, and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is expected to present silk robes to the Goddess on Moola Nakshatram day.
